Based on true events, this erotic thriller novel tells the tale of a young, naive woman named Tanya enters the online dating and chat world. Her first foray into this digital realm initially proves to be bland and disappointing; however, sex, suspense, power struggles, and attempted murder soon unfold. These unwelcome adventures interfere with her business and her sanity as she aspires to live up to her deceased parent’s standards. A conman named Sam ensnares Aaron, a handsome investment banker, into his ploy and uses him as a pawn to lure women into doing things they normally wouldn’t do. Sam then exposes their personal information as well as their images, sometimes in the act of cybersex, and posts them on a very successful porn website that he owns. Tanya’s encounter with these two men evolves into a long, winding road, with each turn bringing irreparable changes in her life.

Enraged by the deceit and the unconscionable behavior of these men, Tanya turns whistleblower and vows to assist the FBI in shutting down the dating app and porn site - and she won’t stop until the perverted perpetrators are behind bars. She never relents, but ultimately laments, “I never thought that I would have to give up my life to remain alive.”

MY REVIEW:
'The Wild Cat'  is an erotic thriller that explores the world of cybercrime. The plot revolves around how one's addiction towards the Internet and social media can lead to serious consequences. The novel is the first part of The Wild Cat Trilogy.

Tanya, an art gallery owner in New York is an extremely independent woman. She happens to download an online dating app known as iVoice, mostly out of curiosity after seeing her friend Dorothy using it. Now, iVoice is not like other dating apps, it connects users only if he/she is interested in each other's voice. She registers herself as 'Iron Angel' and connects with the user 'Phantom', whose real name is Aaron, and they started interacting a lot with him. As days pass, Tanya becomes more addicted to this app and develops a 'soft spot' for Aaron. Now, Phantom aka Aaron is involved with another guy Sam Backer, who is known as 'Cobra' in the iVoice world. Sam owns a pornographic website along with his girlfriend Monica,  where he traps rich girls and blackmails them by sharing their private images and phone numbers on that site. When Tanya came to know about this incident, she plots revenge against them and makes a vow to shut down this dating app. But will she succeed in her attempt?

First of all, I would like to thank the author for bringing into light such serious issues like cybercrime. The story speaks about the other side of the online world, how dangerous it's consequences can be for an individual. The narrative style was gripping and fast-paced, the flow was good too, however, at times I felt that the story was unnecessarily being dragged. The ending was unexpected and left many questions unanswered. The language was crisp and lucid but I did spot some spelling errors, which can be attributed to the editing mistakes.

The worst part of the book for me was the character of Tanya. I didn't understand how can a mature woman like her act in such an immature and foolish manner.

Overall, I would say that 'The Wild Cat' was an okay one time read for me. I would recommend this book to all the thriller lovers, especially to erotic thriller lovers.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Taanya Sarma is an author, poet, and entrepreneur. An ambivert true to form, the depth and duality of Taanya's personality are evident throughout her writing.

The genesis of The Wild Cat trilogy stems from her desire to warn naive young women about the pitfalls of the online dating world. Taanya's goal is to see her series of novels published and available in multiple languages as far-reaching as countries like India, China, UK, NZ, SA, Australia- and of course, in her home country the United States.

When she's not writing, Taanya is most likely thinking about writing- or spending time with her adopted dog, playing the guitar and piano, sketching, biking, snorkeling, or participating in some extreme sports like parasailing, skydiving, or bungee jumping.
