" No money can give you contentment and happiness. Do what your heart wants and what you will get would be priceless. . ."

PLOTLINE:

The plot of the novel revolves around the life of Shekhar Kapoor, who is the chairman of a shoe company named Aerowalk. In spite of being a successful businessman, Shekhar is arrogant, selfish and a heartless person. According to Shekhar, every other being is inferior to him and he is the best. He behaves badly with everyone, be it with the employees in his office, or disregarding the poor people. And furthermore, he doesn't even care for his sick dad who is in his deathbed.

One day while Shekhar was on the way to his office, he received a mysterious phone call from what is called the City of Justice, where the person on the other side warns him of his wrongdoings and asks him to mend his ways. However, Shekhar ignored that and went on behaving in his usual manner with the others. And, after receiving a few more warnings, Shekhar met with an accident and died.

Only when he goes to hell, that he gets aware of all his unethical behaviour towards others, and how badly it has affected them. He desperately wished if he can be given a second chance to correct all his misdeed.

Will Shekhar be given a second chance? Read the book to find it out.

 MY REVIEW:

The book 'Second Chance' has a very unique plotline and is filled with the elements such as fantasy, suspense, drama and etc. The language and the writing style of the author has been plain and lucid throughout the book. The author has very deftly pointed out the concept of 'karma', that is, how a person's fate can be depicted from his actions. More importantly, the story also makes us realize the importance of second chances in our life.

However, I could find many grammatical errors throughout the book. There were also many incomplete sentences, which can be because of the editing mistakes, that gave me a hard time to understand what it was trying to say. Also, I feel that it would have been better if the character's description were made more detailed.

Overall, I would say that the story was nice, and the book is okay for a one time read.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Dr. Sandeep Jatwa was born in the holy city of Ujjain. Having attained an M.B.B.S from MGM Medical College, Indore, Sandeep went on to secure a job in medicine and now works at the Government Hospital in Sarangpur District, Rajgarh.

He has an amazing imagination and spends much of his free time dreaming up stories. He has been writing since 2006 and has completed two novels. The first one is yet to be published.

Sandeep's most urgent wish is to be able to educate children who work in the street and have little opportunity to make something good from their lives. He believes that everyone's childhood should be awesome, and not a struggle.
