' A bitter winter wind blowing outside talked to me. There was no one else around. And then it struck me. She might have truly disappeared! Sometimes, you get a sense of these things. . .'

PLOTLINE:

Rahul Abhyankar is an IIT Graduate, who starts up a new company, a digital infotainment site named as Yummimages along with his childhood best friend Suhel Bagga. Rahul is in love with Simone, who is the creative head of his company. However, all is not well between Simone and Suhel, which is creating problems in the company. In order to ease things up and to set things right between them, Rahul throws a party in his apartment.

Everything was going well, until, halfway to the party, Simone mysteriously disappears and is nowhere to be found. Rahul called on for police investigation in search for Simone. However, unhappy with the investigation, he takes matters in his own hands and soon has a few suspects lined up. It's just a matter of time before he knows the truth.

But reality can be so twisted, so bizarre, so utterly unbelievable. . .

MY REVIEW:

The blurb of the book looked very interesting when I first read it. Unfortunately, when I started to read the book, it was far from interesting. Initially, I literally dragged myself to read the book, until in the midway, the story started to take pace. The more the story progressed, the more twists and turns came in the way, especially in the last few chapters, which changed everything. The climax was unexpected and shocking, but however, it didn't give me any chills as it was stated in the blurb.

The writing style was blunt and abrasive and it didn't impress me much. Moreover, the author has used many offensive words which I felt was unnecessary. Presence of erotic elements in the story was certainly not appealing. It was the biggest turn off in the story,( at least for me!) and I felt very disgusted. I could not relate with any of the characters and was unable to sympathize with them. Other than the main characters ( Rahul, Suhel and Simone), some other characters also comes in between, which was necessary, but then I feel that the exaggerated description of those characters was not really required.

The plus point in the story, which stopped me from giving two stars was, the presence of psychological aspects in the story. Being a psychology student myself, it really did interest me when I was reading those parts.

Overall, I would say that the book was an okay one time read. One who likes erotic psychological thrillers, might like to read it.
